The team oversees internal competitions, skills-based training, intervarsity opportunities and external competition pathways, with a focus on preparation, participation and student support.

Amy Young

President · Competitions Portfolio

Amy provides strategic leadership across the Competitions portfolio, setting the direction for the annual program and coordinating the planning, administration and delivery of mooting and skills-based initiatives.

Her work focuses on building a clear and professional competition pathway for students, with an emphasis on accessibility, preparation, advocacy development and meaningful engagement with the legal profession.

Raphael Hanna

Vice President · Intervarsity Competitions

Raphael leads the portfolio’s intervarsity focus, assisting with external competition opportunities, competitor communication and the practical steps required for students to represent Western Sydney University beyond campus.

His work connects internal preparation with external performance, ensuring competitors understand key timelines, expectations and opportunities within the broader law student competitions landscape.

Richard Oh

Vice President · Skills & Internal Competitions

Richard focuses on the internal competitions and skills development program, assisting with practical opportunities for students to build confidence before progressing into more advanced advocacy and competition settings.

His role is centred on student readiness, including clear competition structures, accessible entry points and skills-based initiatives that help students practise legal reasoning, oral advocacy and professional communication.

Ahmed Dhaibi

Ordinary Officer · General Competitions Support

Ahmed contributes as an Ordinary Officer within the Competitions Subcommittee, assisting with the practical coordination and behind-the-scenes work that allows the portfolio to operate effectively.

His role is intentionally broad, supporting event preparation, administrative tasks and general portfolio needs so that competitions, workshops and student-facing initiatives are delivered smoothly.
