Advocacy beyond borders.
An international opportunity to research complex legal questions, develop written arguments and advocate before an international moot court bench.
The Leiden-Sarin International Air Law Moot Court Competition brings together law students from around the world to engage with issues at the intersection of international law and aviation.
Competing teams undertake substantive legal research, prepare written memorials and present oral arguments. The competition provides an opportunity to strengthen legal reasoning, persuasive advocacy and collaborative problem-solving in a specialised international field.

What applicants should expect.
Students who register their interest may be shortlisted and invited to participate in an interview and/or an assessment of their written or oral advocacy skills. This might involve a short legal research or writing task, a brief oral exercise, or both.
Potential considerations include legal research and analytical ability, advocacy potential, teamwork, genuine interest in the competition and the capacity to commit to preparation.
Previous mooting experience may be relevant, but the final eligibility and selection criteria have not yet been confirmed. Further details will be provided when applications open.
The selection stages described above are indicative only and may be adjusted by the WSLSA Competitions portfolio and the University. The organiser’s competition rules and schedule remain authoritative for the international competition.
